I went to the open house today, so here's my report: The house has a a cool mid-century feel, with a great open living room and dining room area when you walk into the house. Here's a 1950 Charles Goodman in Hammond Hill in Silver Spring. The 3/2 one-level home is one of 20 Goodman homes in the neighborhood on Pendelton Drive on the northeast side of Veirs Mill Road. It appears that the interior is being extensively renovated. (I peeked inside today.)

I found another two Charles Goodmans for sale in Silver Spring. One is in Hammond Wood and the other is in Hammond Hill. Both neighborhoods are off Veirs Mill Road.

The homes in Hammond Hill, which Goodman designed in 1949 and cost $10,750, were all sold the first week on the market, according to a history of Goodman written by Elizabeth Jo Lampl, an architectural historian with the Montgomery County Department of Park and Planning. Goodman made $200 for each house.

Thanks to loyal reader Joe in Virginia for alerting me to this 1966 home designed by architect Allan Meyer. Click here for great images of the 2,000-sq. ft. house, which features cathedral ceiling with exposed wood beams in the open kitchen/living room area (pictured above), windows galore and other mid-century details. The price on this Goodman rental in Wheatoncreat in Silver Spring highlighted in a previous post has dropped from $1,850 to $1,650. Wheatoncreast is located west of Georgia Avenue just north of Arcola Avenue. The home has 3 bedrooms and 1 bath and is 1,100 square feet. The listing says pets are ok.

This 4 bedroom/ 3 bath mid-century modern home is located in Garrett Park, Maryland. The listing has some good pictures. The home has two fireplaces and vaulted ceilings in the living room/dining room area. Check out the picture of the cool front door area, which is surrounded by glass.
