1974 Bennett-KLC Contemporary in Alexandria Overlook - $859K; Open 1/25

The tip for this new listing comes from reader Nadina who lives near a cluster of about 10 1970s contemporaries built by Edmund Bennett and designed by Keyes, Lethbridge and Condon, the team responsible for Carderock Springs and Potomac Overlook in Bethesda and New Mark Commons in Rockville. The 5/3 home sits on a half-acre on a street with about 10 similar models, which feature lots of glass, open staircase and several balconies. The kitchen has been updated (Can you say granite and stainless steel?). It looks like the house, which appears to be based on the Pineview model in Carderock, has been expanded. See images here or check out the open house on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

I love this house, but why does it give me the impression of a "motel"?
