In 1951, Eli and Gerald Luria began building modest mid-century homes in Holmes Run Acres modeled after the contemporary ranches being built in California. Designed by two of the leading local modernist architects, Nicholas Satterlee and Donald Lethbridge, the homes feature wood beamed cathedral ceilings, large brick wall fireplaces and plenty of glass. This 4/2, 2,000 square-foot home was designed by Satterlee and Lethbridge for Gaddy Brothers Builders. The Gaddy Brothers bought the remaining lots from the Luria Brothers and continued building contemporary-style homes in the Falls Church neighborhood that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Here are images of the house, which is located here.
